Paramore’s lead guitarist Josh Farro also announced that he would not join the tour so that he could prepare for his wedding.
In his blog post on Paramore.net, Farro wrote,“As some of you already know, I am engaged. So, as weird as it is to stay behind, I need to take some time off to plan the wedding and everything. Because of that I will not be joining the guys on the Pacific Rim tour coming up.”
Taylor York’s brother Justin York was the replacement for Farro.
“Justin York, Taylor’s brother, will be filling in for me as a favor. He’s an awesome dude, you all will love him. Trust me, I know it’s strange having someone “fill in” for me. I don’t like it anymore than you guys do, but this is the most important thing in the world to me and I trust you all will understand,” Farro added.
Although Farro might have broken many teen hearts with his absence during the tour, he, however, assured that his absence was not permanent. The tour started last month.
The opening act of the event was local rock band Callalily. Callalily performed their hit songs like “Susundan” and “Stars.”
Unfortunately, the crowd was too caught up with seeing Paramore for the first time.
With the charismatic voice of Hayley Williams (who wore a “Thrilla in Manila” shirt during the concert) and talents of Jeremy Davis, Zac Farro, Justin and Taylor York, Manila started to rock. Fans were jumping up and down and were literally singing their hearts out.
Paramore performed five tracks: “Ignorance,” “Looking Up,” “Careful,” “The Only Exception,” “Where The Lines Overlap” and “Brick By Boring Brick” from their third and latest album, Brand New Eyes. Paramore also performed their hit tracks from All We Know Is Falling and Riot!: “CrushCrushCrush,” “That’s What You Get,” “Let The Flames Begin,” “Never Let This Go,” “Pressure,” “For A Pessimist,” “I’m Pretty Optimistic” and “Misery Business.” And who could forget the theme song of the movie Twilight that made the band even more popular? Yes, “Decode” was also performed.
Paramore performed a total of 14 songs, songs that every fan knew by heart.
But who is Paramore exactly? Formed in 2004, Paramore is a Grammy-nominated quintet American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee. The band had released three studio albums: All We Know Is Falling (2005), certified Platinum record Riot! (2007) and Brand New Eyes (2009), which is the band’s latest and highest charting album since their debut.
The band is currently signed with the record label Fueled By Ramen. The Academy Is . . . , The Cab, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, VersaEmerge, and A Rocket to the Moon are among the rooster of artists signed to Fueled By Ramen.
Following the success of their concert, Paramore said that they hope to come back to the Philippines for another tour.
